What Pirr is

Pirr is an interactive romance and fan fiction app that writes stories with AI, line by line, as the user makes choices. It runs on iOS, Android and the web, where the web version is labeled beta. It is free to start: the site calls it a freemium app, with a free tier, a premium subscription and top-ups available to both. Adult content is not the default. A user who is 18 or older turns on an NSFW mode in the app's advanced settings to write spicy romance, so this is a romance-first storytelling app that has an adult switch, not an explicit-only generator. A reader who wants relationship-driven stories with heat on top will find it suits them; a reader who wants graphic content from the first prompt should read the rules section below.

What you can do with it

A session starts by picking a vibe, characters and a genre, and the site says a user is inside a first story within a minute. The story does not arrive in one shot. It unfolds line by line and responds to the choices made, with AI-written suggestions offered at each step and an "I'll write" field for typing the next beat directly. Typing anything in that field prompts new suggestions, which the site gives as a fix for slow responses. The AI can take creative liberties and head in unexpected directions, and a menu on each suggestion lets the user report options they dislike.

Customization is the core of the product. The user names the characters, chooses their pronouns and personalities, sets the genre, the vibe, the location, the plot, the orientation and the theme, and can add vibes of their own. On the premium plan, custom genres, tropes and locations are added to that list, along with a plot generator and extended plots. Characters are built from a name, pronouns and personality, and can be saved and reused across stories. The free tier allows 1 character per story and 3 saved characters, while premium allows up to 3 characters per story and unlimited saved characters.

Fan fiction is a named use. The site says writers can shape stories in the style of the fandoms and tropes they love, and that stories stay private until the user shares them. Co-creation is built in: starting a story, a user can add another person by sharing a link, and the free tier lists reading and writing live with others. Text can be edited directly in the story by opening Create mode and tapping into the text.

On the adult side, the content guidelines describe bold, spicy storytelling as welcome as long as it stays fictional and emotionally grounded. The guidelines call consensual kink and BDSM welcome when grounded in trust, communication and mutual desire, and they describe romance-led explicit scenes that show safety, trust and connection as allowed. Fantasy, paranormal and omegaverse romance are welcome too. The guidelines rule out pornographic spectacle where extremity or degradation replaces character, consent and emotional context. They also explain a coercion test, which asks whether characters keep meaningful agency and can freely choose, communicate and withdraw consent.

Pirr is a text product as the site presents it, built around stories and not around pictures, audio or a companion chat. Publishing is available: in Create mode a user marks a story finished and chooses to publish, which requires at least 10 snippets, a title and compliance with the code of conduct. A published story is final and cannot be changed. Story export is described as coming soon, though the site says the stories are the user's own today.

Free tier, plans and billing

The structure is a free tier and one premium subscription, with top-ups sold to both groups. The terms describe the top-ups as consumable credits that are used up as they are spent, have no cash value and cannot be transferred, with any validity period stated at the time of purchase. The site prints no price for them. The free tier includes unlimited access to thousands of stories, 20 daily Standard AI actions, co-creating with others, and reading and writing live. Premium adds unlimited Standard AI actions, custom genres, tropes and locations, the plot generator and extended plots, more characters per story and unlimited saved characters. It also lists 500 Superior AI actions a month, marked as coming soon, so that item is not yet something a subscriber can use according to the page.

In October 2026 the premium page gives the price as $8.99/month or $12.99/month, says the plan can be canceled anytime and notes that local prices may differ. The premium page does not say which figure goes with which billing choice, though the upgrade steps say to choose Monthly or Yearly and confirm. A free trial is offered from the premium page, and the terms say Pirr may offer a trial period before charging subscription fees and may end a trial at any time.

Upgrading happens in the mobile app, and the site says it must be done there. The steps are to open Pirr, go to Profile, then Settings, then Manage Subscription, and choose a plan. Canceling uses the same path. The terms name Google Play and the Apple App Store as the places the app is downloaded from, and for purchases made through either one they say the store is the seller of record, so refunds and any withdrawal right run through the store's own process. Outside that, the terms call amounts paid non-refundable unless the plan or the law says otherwise, and an account closed for breaking the rules gets no refund of purchases. Payment may be handled by a third-party processor.

Rules and privacy

The terms require every user to confirm they are at least 18, and the adult mode is a separate switch on top of that. The terms acknowledge the explicit nature of content on the service and tell users not to pass content from Pirr to anyone who is not old enough to view it where they live. The content guidelines state that stories must not sexualize, eroticize or encourage sexual interest in minors, and that explicit sexual content involving anyone under 18 is not allowed.

On privacy, stories are private until the user publishes them. The terms say the user owns their stories, that the company does not sell or license them for AI training and does not train its own generative AI on them unless the user opts in. An account can be deleted in the app, which the FAQ says permanently erases all associated data. The privacy policy says personal data is kept no longer than 10 years and that processing aims to stay within the EU and EEA. The company behind the app is described as Swedish, women-led and founded in 2020 in Stockholm. The terms name the contracting company as Pirr AB, domiciled in Stockholm, and are governed by the laws of Sweden.

Who it suits

Pirr suits a romance reader or fan fiction writer who wants to steer a story rather than receive a finished one, who is happy with an app on a phone and who wants spicy scenes inside a relationship plot. The free tier's 20 daily actions let a reader judge whether the writing style fits.

It is a weaker match for anyone who wants an explicit-first generator, image or voice output, or a companion chat. The adult mode sits behind a setting and a content policy with firm limits on extreme material, and upgrading is possible only through the mobile app. Story export is not available yet.
