What EmberX is
EmberX is an AI girlfriend chat, described on its own pages as a private space where you message and exchange photos with hand-built AI girls. It also offers an AI boyfriend section and a build-your-own option, so the roster is wider than the name suggests. Chatting is free with no card, and the pricing page and FAQ say the free chat is explicit from the first message, which is how the site presents itself as a free NSFW chat as well as a companion app. The terms word the free tier more narrowly, a point covered under billing below. The site does not name an iOS or Android app, and the terms say an account is registered with an email address or a supported single sign-on provider.
A reader who wants a companion that remembers them, plus photos on request and an optional paid tier for video, is the person this is built for. Someone who only wants a bulk image generator or a voice-note product will find narrower coverage, and the sections below say where.
What you can do with it
A session starts by picking a character from the catalog or building your own. The site says its catalog holds 22 hand-built characters, each written individually with her own voice, history and look, and each listed with an age, a city and a role such as the bartender, the boss, the trainer or the ex. Every character is an adult fictional character according to the pricing page and the FAQ. Message counts and like counts are shown on each character card, and those figures are the site's own display.
Chat is the core. The pages describe replies that respond to the line you just wrote rather than a script, and a character who stays the same person when a conversation turns explicit. The site says the shy one stays shy and the bossy one stays bossy. Each character has things she is into and things she is not, and the site says she reacts to being pushed the way a person would, by teasing, refusing or bargaining, instead of printing a policy notice.
Memory is stated on every plan, not only Premium. The FAQ says she keeps a running sense of the relationship plus durable details such as your name, what you do, boundaries you set and running jokes, and that coming back after a month picks up where you left off. The pages also state what she does not do yet: she does not message you first, so you open the chat and she is there with her greeting and scenario.
Photos are generated on request. The site says an image is rendered for the moment, in her style and setting, rather than pulled from a stock library. Photos cost tokens on every plan. Describing the shot in your own words is a Premium feature, according to the NSFW chat page. Each character with a Room has a sequence of scenes that moves in order, one rung at a time. On the free tier the Room is a blurred teaser, with one free rung described as real but still dressed, and Premium shows every scene unblurred.
Video is Premium only. The site's wording is that you ask her to move and she will, and the pages say free accounts cannot generate clips and that clips cost tokens like images do. That covers the video side of the directory in the product's own terms: short clips, not a standalone video studio.
Style range is split into two catalogs. The realistic roster is the photoreal one, and the anime roster is its own catalog with the same writing in a drawn style. The site says the anime characters run on the same engine and rules, so nothing about the art style changes what she is allowed to say. There is also a male roster, written as men with their own register and history instead of a renamed girlfriend template, and the boyfriend page notes that characters there are still being added.
The Build your own option lets you design your own girl and keep her. The free tier includes it, and the pricing page says Premium allows as many girls as you like.
Voice has two states on the pages. Voice notes inside the chat are described as still in development. On Premium you can call a character and hear her answer in her own voice, billed in tokens per started minute.
Free tier, plans and billing
The durable facts come first. There are two tiers, Free and Premium, and the free tier needs no card. Free chat is paced: at some point in the evening the character says goodnight and returns the next day. Premium removes the goodnight, shows the Room unblurred, adds video and unlimited chat, and includes a monthly token grant. Tokens are the currency for everything you generate, and members can buy one-time token packs on top that never renew.
Premium bills monthly or yearly, renews automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled, and cancels from Settings. The pricing page says Premium runs to the end of the period already paid, so canceling never cuts it short, and that lapsing closes the billing agreement rather than the account. The characters you made and every conversation stay in place. The page says tokens you bought stay in your wallet and nothing expires. The terms add that when a subscription ends, is refunded or is reversed by a chargeback, the token balance associated with the subscription is forfeited. If a renewal payment fails, the terms say the site may retry it and may suspend Premium until a payment succeeds. On refunds, the terms ask for a request within 24 hours of the payment and decline it once a material part of the period's tokens has been spent. For consumers in the EU, EEA and UK they also describe a 14-day withdrawal right on the initial purchase, exercised by writing to the support address, with a proportionate deduction for what was already used. Failed generations return their tokens, and the token cost of each generation is shown before it is confirmed.
In October 2026 the pricing page starts the free tier with 100 tokens, which it puts at about 20 photos, then adds a few tokens each day, and unused daily tokens stack up to a small cap. A photo costs 5 tokens and a short video costs more. The same page lists Premium at $14.99 a month billed monthly, or $99.99 a year on the yearly option, with 250 tokens a month included. A call on Premium is billed at 2 tokens per started minute.
The two documents do not describe the free tier the same way, and a reader should know both. The pricing page and FAQ say free chat is explicit on every plan and paced only by the goodnight. The terms, as read in October 2026, set the free night at 40 messages, reset at midnight UTC with no carry-over, list the free tier as safe-for-work only and place explicit content under Premium. The terms also mention a one-time pass, where offered, that lifts the nightly limit for 24 hours and does not renew.
As of October 2026 the token packs come in three sizes, from a small Boost pack at $7 to a large Max pack at $30, and the terms say packs are sold to Premium subscribers only. Prices are in USD plus any applicable taxes. The terms say payments run through outside payment providers and that the site never stores a full card number, and the site names no method other than a card. Charges appear on the card statement as EMBERX.AI, with nothing describing what was bought.
Rules and privacy
Access is strictly 18+, and you confirm your age when you create an account. The terms say the site may require age verification, including through a third-party provider, and terminates accounts it determines or reasonably suspects belong to a minor, without refund. The terms prohibit content that sexualizes a minor or depicts a person who is or appears to be a minor in a sexual context. They also prohibit depicting a real, identifiable person in a sexual context without consent or non-consensual intimate imagery, and the FAQ says the site does not generate content depicting real people, minors or anyone non-consenting.
On privacy, the site says it does not sell, publish or share what you write, and does not train foundation models on conversations. You can wipe your whole history with one click in settings. The legal page names the operator as Sub Zero Labs OÜ of Tallinn, Estonia, and lists a Terms of Service revised October 6, 2026 and a Privacy Notice revised October 8, 2026.
Who it suits
EmberX suits someone who wants a long-running character with memory, explicit chat at no cost, and photos paid for in a small token currency rather than a flat fee. Its tiers are simple to read: one paid plan, one free plan and optional packs. The yearly option and the discreet statement line also matter to a reader who values a predictable bill.
The caveats are specific. The free tier paces chat with a nightly goodnight, and every photo spends tokens even on Premium, where the monthly grant covers a limited number of images. The terms and the pricing page differ on whether free chat is explicit and on what happens to tokens when a subscription ends, a difference that shows only in the terms. Video and calls are Premium only, and calls draw on the same token balance. Voice notes in the chat do not exist yet, and the character does not start conversations. Someone who wants a large generator with many style controls, or a product with a published app on a phone store, will not find that here.
